| | | Western Stoneware Company- Monmuth, Illinois 1908 | Beautifully engraved certificate from the Western Stoneware Company issued in 1908. This historic document was printed by Western Bank Note Company and has an
ornate border around it with a vignette of an eagle perched on a rock. This item is hand signed by the Company's President (W.D. Mercton) and Secretary (George E. Patton) and is over 96 years old. The certificate was issued to Ella Weir and signed by Ella Weir and W.B. Weir on the back.

In 1906, 7 small potteries were merged to form the Western Stoneware Company, Weir Pottery, Monmouth Pottery, Macomb Stoneware Company, Macomb Pottery Company, D Culbertson Stoneware Company, Clinton Stoneware Company, and Fort Dodge Stoneware Company.
