The Memphis, Selma, and Brunswick Rail Road was originally incorporated as Memphis, Holly Springs & Selma RR, the name being changed in 1881. In 1887, the Memphis, Birmingham & Atlantic RR acquired the property of Memphis, Selma, and Brunswick Rail Road.
