Crank Gear

  • Install the washer
  • Install Crank "key"

 

 

 

  • Install the "keyed" washer
  • and gear (see rollover image)

 

Crank and Balancer Gears

    • Position the crank and balancer gear to line up the dots so the motor doesnt do the hop when you start it. I failed to get a decent picture of this step but you should get the idea
    • Line up the balancer gear with the balancer shaft keyway and install the key.
    • Install the lock washer with bendable tabs on both the crank and balancer gears. Its best to use new locking washers

Lock washer for Crank 90215-20197-00 #3 on Clutch fiche at alba

 

Crank and Balancer Gears cont...

Use a small piece of soft metal like in the dissasembly chapter to hold the gears from spinning. Make sure the timing chain is not bound up in the case!

Tighten the Balancer Gear, and torque to 140Nm or 100Ft Pounds
Tighten the Crank Gear, and torque to 150Nm or 110Ft pounds

Use a flat blade screwdrive to pry up then tap the lock washers to hold onto the nut
