Hey, I just have a couple of questions (obviously).
1. How can I get this snare sound?

Its Danzig's
"twist of cain". I would love to use it with one of my bands.
2. Im buying a new kit soon, and Im stumped. Its basically between a mapex saturn, and a tama starclassic (birch and bubinga). I really need a second opinion.

As for that snare sound, I think you'd have to have an obnoxious amount of compression on it in order to get that character. Short of triggering your snare, I'd suggest micing it up and tinkering with mixer settings.

yeah, that snare is killer. I think it's Rick Rubin's genius production that is responsible.
