Alcatel today announced that they will be supplying the hardware and software to support BT's new MegaStream Ethernet service.
This will be deployed on top of BT's existing network, in 120 PoP's (Points of Presence) throughout the UK.
However, this is far from a residential or even standard business service, which you can see from the pricing available by clicking here. It does at least indicate that BT are working towards the rollout of faster services, even if it is only in the corporate sector right now.
