BT set to launch SDSL pre-registration scheme

Posted: Tuesday 10th February 2004 by Sam
Following BT's much trumped successes with the ADSL pre-registration scheme, word on the wires today is that BT will soon be launching a similar scheme for SDSL (Symmetric Digital Subscriber Line).

The difference between this and the ADSL scheme is that the SDSL one will not involve trigger levels (yet). It will be a case of send a load of registrations in, and when BT decide that your exchange is worthy, they'll upgrade the exchange.

Further details are sketchy, but hopefully we'll be able to track the continued rollout of SDSL, and hopefully some other faster services in the future. There are currently 151 SDSL enabled exchanges in the UK. An up-to-date map of SDSL coverage can be found by clicking here.
