Further update to the RFS situation

Posted: Friday 16th January 2004 by Sam
After my post earlier this afternoon, an announcement was made on the BT message boards stating the following:

"Over the next couple of weeks we are going to get back to a regular day to make RFS announcements as far as this is possible. This will be by Wednesday this week." ...

... "As I mentioned before, the dates will be settling back into the 2-4 week post trigger timescale. This week we will clear all those that triggered up to 18th December."

If we include all exchanges that triggered up to 18th December (not including 18th Dec!), we arrive with a list of 62 (including Torpoint). However, as pointed out by David Peilow, if we exclude the 22 exchanges that were given "provisional RFS dates" (150+ days away) last week, then the total to be released next week will only total 40 (Again, including Torpoint). Furthermore, we can also exclude the exchanges that had their dates retracted last week (Only 2 are present in those 40). By next Wednesday, even with these 38 new dates, the backlog will still be in excess of 200. Furthermore, you have to wonder if these provisional dates are going to become more commonplace.

The 38 exchanges due RFS dates by next Wednesday are listed below.
