LLU provider update

Posted: Thursday 24th August 2006 by Sam
It seems like the LLU providers are all dead set on reaching their autumn coverage targets. Bulldog and Easynet have rolled out 68 and 44 new exchanges respectively this week. Rumour has it that another major LLU player is about to embark upon a new deployment plan as well. Those of you who are particularly interested in LLU deployment may wish to take a look at TeleBusillis. The following graph depicts how LLU has grown across the different providers over the years.

In other LLU related news, HomeChoice have finally ended months of speculation about their future by being bought by Tiscali. Their combined coverage at present is some 340 exchanges, although this is likely to increase before long due to Tiscali's rollout plans.

Many of you have been asking me about revised Carphone Warehouse (or TalkTalk, or Opal) enablement dates. The dates listed on the site were estimates based upon Carphone Warehouse's original rollout plan. Sadly, they have been less than forthcoming with providing new data.

As an aside, I'll be away at Reading festival for the next 3-4 days, so I'm afraid I won't be able to answer any emails.
