NTL concludes the Milton Keynes wireless trials

Posted: Thursday 12th August 2004 by Sam
NTL have today notified Milton Keynes Council and customers participating in their wireless trials stating that the wireless trials operating in the area are to be discontinued. The downbeat email to customers declared the service "commercially unviable" and informed them that the service will not be available after September 20th. 90 customers took part in the trails, which began in late March of this year.

The full text of the emails and more can be seen at the Milton Keynes Broadband Action Group website.

BT's extended reach trials in Milton Keynes are also due to finish at the end of September, although trialists there will be able to keep their connection afterwards if they so choose. The official results of the trial are due to be announced in the very near future.
