LTT offers new ChoiceNet wireless broadband service

Posted: Friday 6th August 2004 by Sam
LTT have today announced a new service called ChoiceNet that allows users to customise their downstream, upstream, contention ratio and additional extras both before buying and during live service. The wireless operator currently provides service to areas in Kent, Sussex and Surrey, and is in the process of expanding to other areas.

The product builder on their website allows you to select your upstream and downstream in 256Kbps increments, and then select a contention ratio for the connection. Once this has been done you click calculate to determine your monthly bill. For example, a 2Mbps symmetric connection at 50:1 costs £66.67+VAT per month.

The advent of customisable and flexible broadband services, like this one and the FLEX offering from Eclipse, makes a refreshing change from the standard fixed-rate connections we've been used to. Let's just hope these new products stimulate demand and encourage other providers to launch competing products.
