Long reach trial extended to areas in Scotland

Posted: Wednesday 9th June 2004 by Sam
I have just received news that Fort William and Dingwall in Scotland will be operating long reach trials (above 60dB line loss) as of July 1st. The current long reach trial in Milton Keynes has just begun, so it is interesting to see BT expanding it so quickly.

Details are sketchy at the moment, but there will be room for 100 lines on each exchange. Once again, ISDN lines will not be included, and it will only be applicable to the 512Kbps services.

More details to follow as I receive them.

Update (16:00): The trial will be operating under the same parameters and restrictions as the Milton Keynes one. Elegible phone numbers for the trial are as follows:

ExchangeNumber range(s)
Fort William01397 70x xxx
01397 71x xxx
Dingwall01349 86x xxx
