PlusNet launches new capacity-charging based products

Posted: Sunday 30th May 2004 by Sam
The Sheffield based ISP PlusNet have launched a new range of products built upon the new capacity-charging system launched by BT Wholesale on Friday.

The products include the standard 512Kbps, 1Mbps and 2Mbps speeds, but allow you to set your own monthly download cap. The base price for 2Mbps is £31.99 inc VAT per month (4GB cap per month), and the "premier" package is £39.99 inc VAT (with no download limit!).

All of these new products are based upon BT Wholesale's IPStream product. Better still, because IPStream Home 2000 (due to trial this autumn) has not yet been launched, PlusNet are currently using an IPStream Office 2000 connection for their 2Mbps service. Yes, this means 20:1 contention for now - although once the IPStream Home 2000 product is available, PlusNet have made it clear that they will switch to that.
