Cable and Wireless have announced this morning that they have purchased Bulldog Communications for £18.6 million. The original press release can be found here.
Rumours of such a deal have been floating around for some time now, so for many it will not be too much of a surprise.
Bulldog have been criticised in recent months for concentrating too much on their Datastream based services, ignoring their LLU services. Many of their Datastream customers are reporting sub-standard speeds on various forums.
Bulldog currently have LLU equipment installed in 35 central-London exchanges, and have Datastream available in around 400. Their plans to unbundle more exchanges this year look as though they will continue, under the new ownership. |
