BT provides more information on the long lead times

Posted: Friday 26th March 2004 by Sam
This afternoon BT have announced that they have been unable to set some RFS dates due to the fact that they are "surveying the extent of the work that needs to be done before the exchange can be connected to the broadband network."

The 37 exchanges singled out as a part of this list is basically the same list that can be found here. The list is as follows though...

BT have also setup an additional section on their message board that details the reasons for some of the long lead times. The information in this section is being updated as I type.

Donna Young, of BT Wholesale, has also made another announcement regarding the reasons behind the long lead times. After receiving a lot of requests for me to forward the email last time, I have decided to just reproduce it here. You can see the full announcement by clicking here.

Update (5:30pm): BT have now also released a new batch of RFS dates for the One North East scheme. It is curious to note that some have had their original RFS date moved back. Powburn, for example, was due to be enabled by the end of June, and a date of 30/06/2004 was recorded by my site, but this has now slipped (according to the latest list) to 30/11/2004.
