Ijele: Art eJournal of the African World is an online journal of contemporary art and architecture, art history and criticism, focusing exclusively on the visual creative expressions of artists in Africa and other regions of the world. As well, it also highlights the work of non-African / non-Diaspora artists who use iconography and symbolisms derived from any of the artistic traditions of Africa. Ijele: Art eJournal provides a forum for scholarly articles of the highest quality, and is devoted to making a major contribution to the advancement of African art studies in universities all over the world. Interviews that illumine the creative politics and philosophy of artists are especially welcome.
Revue Noire Magazine Each issue is a focus on artistic theme - photography, dance, cinema, theatre... -or on a geographic theme - South Africa, Sahel, Caribbean... - and shows a choice of about twenty unpublished texts by writers, a large panorama of plastic artists and photographers as well as a presentation of the principal actors of cultural life. All issues are bilingual English-French.
Third Text: Welcome to Third Text Online. Third Text continues to bring the most advanced scholarship in art and visual culture from 'beyond postcolonial theory and identity politics'. The central function of the website is to provide a keyword-searchable index of the journal's since its foundation in 1987.
'Nka journal of Contemporary African Art' is a biannual publication, six issues of which have appeared since it started with the autumn 1994/winter I995 issue.The seventh issue has been edited and designed and is on its way now to press. 'Nka' has established contacts and connections with African-based artists and art critics, academics, museums, galleries and other art related institutions. It is edited by three leading scholars, art critics and curators who are actively engaged in the field of contemporary African art: Salah Hassan, art critic and curator who is also Professor of Art History at Cornell University, Ithaca, New York, USA, Olu Oguibe, Nigerian artist, art historian and critic who holds the Stuart Golding Chair in African Art in the Department of Art at the University of South Florida, Tampa, USA, and founding editor Okwui Enwezor, a New York based curator, art critic and writer.
