2) How can I get my book published?

If you'd like to submit your work for comment, we'd be pleased to read it. Our Author Information page has the details.

3) What genres do you publish?

We're more interested in the quality of writing than a particular genre. That said, we are a commercial publisher who aims to sell a lot of books, so we are always looking for books with general appeal in popular genres such as commercial fiction, historical fiction, thriller and women's fiction. We do not publish poetry or children's books (including books for teens/young adults). Please keep this in mind when submitting your work.

4) How do I order online?

You can order online from each book page in the catalogue, where you can click through to Amazon.co.uk.

5) How do I order a catalogue?

You can see all of our available books online on the catalogue pages and download a pdf of our printed catalogue here. If you are a retailer or journalist, please contact us if you'd like to know more.

6) How can I contact an author?

Post or email your queries to the author, c/o Snowbooks, using the contact details in (1) above. We'll pass your correspondence straight on.

7) How can I order a review copy?

Simply email and ask for one.

8) Where can I get rights information?

We would be pleased to provide you with further rights details and advance copies of our forthcoming books. Please email rights@snowbooks.com, stating which title, territories and rights you are interested in. Here is our latest rights guide for 2007.

9) Where can I get permissions information?

Please email with your permissions query and we will respond as quickly as possible.

10) How can I apply for a job at Snowbooks?

Currently we have no full-time vacancies available at Snowbooks, nor are we looking for work experience participants. Sorry.

11) How long does it take for you to read submissions?

Our open submissions policy results in hundreds of manuscripts being submitted, which take a long time to read. Remember that we have more than full time jobs to do, as well as reading all these books! So it can take up to a year to get back to you. We know this is rotten, but there are no short-cuts - even if we have external readers, we still have to read the books to form an opinion. We really appreciate it when authors submit their work: all we can say is that we're trying as hard as we can but inevitably it takes a long time.

12) You have rejected my manuscript, but have just sent back a one-line email with no reason. I've waited for months - the least I could have is some feedback!

I know, it's rotten. We just don't have the time to give any reasons or feedback at all when we decide not to take on a manuscript. There are excellent feedback services like the Literary Consultancy which we do recommend. You might find our open rejection letter useful. We hope you understand.

13) I am just starting a publishing company. Any tips?

We get a lot of requests for help and advice which is a good sign that the sector is healthy, but we can't answer them all. Our single best bit of advice is to join the IPG which is a wonderful, good value resource. If you like our cover designs, we run a design service for a selection of publishers.
