Kathleen Rooney is a poet, critic, and teacher. A past recipient of the Ruth Lilly Fellowship from Poetry Magazine, her poems have appeared in AGNI, Smartish Pace, Phoebe, and America.

She is included in the Random House anthology, Twentysomething Essays By Twentysomething Authors. Her first book, Reading With Oprah: The Book Club That Changed America (Arkansas, 2005), was a finalist for a 2006 Independent Publisher Book Award. A paperback edition, featuring new material, will be released in 2007.

She is a graduate of the MFA program at Emerson College and holds a BA from George Washington University. She lives with her husband, Martin Seay, in Tacoma, Washington, where she teaches at Pacific Lutheran University. She was born in 1980.
