Emily Brink was born to a half-Japanese father and a Scottish Catholic mother. She grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. She started writing poetry seriously when she was twelve and picked up a copy of Jim Morrison's "Wilderness" poems. She earned her B.A in literature from U.C Santa Cruz. She is currently a recovering alcoholic who follows the Buddhist path and plans to apply for a Masters in creative writing.

Benjamin Buchholz is a US Army Officer currently stationed in Iraq. M.T.C. Cronin
MTC Cronin was born in 1963 in Merriwa in the Hunter Valley of New South Wales and grew up in Caloundra, Queensland. She has published twelve collections of poetry (plus several in translation), the latest being The Flower, The Thing, UQP, 2006. Her work has won and been shortlisted for many major literary awards, most recently <More or Less Than> 1-100 last year won the CJ Dennis Prize for Poetry at the Victorian Premier’s Literary Awards and in 2006 won the Award for Innovation in Writing at the South Australian Festival Awards, as well as being shortlisted for the NSW Premier’s Prize and the Age Book of the Year. Cronin has studied arts, law, literature and creative writing and after working for the decade of the nineties in law, she began teaching writing in primary, secondary and tertiary institutions. She currently lives in Maleny with her partner and three young daughters and is completing her doctorate – The Catastrophe of Meaning – which consists of ten interlinked books of various genres exploring poetry, law, justice and desire Cronin has three collections of poetry forthcoming Irrigations (of the Human Heart) ~ fictional essays on the poetics of living, art & love, USA; Our Life is a Box. / Prayers Without a God, Australia/Thailand; and Notebooks of Signs & 3 Other Small Books, UK).

Eric Darton
Eric Darton’s first novel Free City (WW Norton, 1996) was subsequently published in German and Spanish translations. His cultural history Divided We Stand: A Biography of New York’s World Trade Center (Basic Books 2000), became a New York Times bestseller. Excerpts from his Notes of a New York Son, a journal spanning the years 1995 to 2005, have been published in Hunger Mountain and Designer/Builder. Debra Di Blasi (www.debradiblasi.com) received the 2003 James C.
McCormick Fellowship from the Christopher Isherwood Foundation. Her

Denis Emorine
Denis Emorine is the author of short stories, essays, poetry, and theater. He was born in 1956 and studied literature at the Sorbonne (University of Paris).
His works have been published in France, Belgium, Romania, India and the USA. His theatrical output has been staged in France, India and Russia.
Writing, for Emorine, is a way of harnessing time in its incessant flight. Themes that re-occur throughout his writing include the Doppelgänger, lost or shattered identity, and mythical Venice (a place that truly fascinates him). He also has a great interest for Eastern Europe.
Denis Emorine is part of the editing team at La Nouvelle Tour de Feu and collaborates with various other reviews and literary websites in the U.S., Danmark, France, Germany and Japan.
In 2004, he won first prize for his poetry at the Féile Filiochta International competition.

David Meltzer
David Meltzer is the author of (some say) too many books of poetry. The most recent collection is No Eyes: Lester Young (Black Sparrow Press, 2002). Forthcoming: Beat Thing (La Alameda Press). In the interim also put together San Francisco Beats: Talking with the Poets (City Lights Books) and co-edit Shuffle Boil, a magazine on music, with Steve Dickison. During the 60s wrote erotica, actually devoted 1969 to writing 10 books which I classify as agit-smut. Orf was reprinted by Masquerade Books, 1993; The Agency Trilogy was reprinted by Richard Kasak Books, 1994; Under, a new fiction was published by Rhinoceros Books, 1995. Have edited many theme-driven anthologies; the most current is Reading Jazz (Mercury House, 1995) and am completing a companion volume, Writing Jazz, to be published later this year by Mercury House. Teach in the graduate Poetics and undergraduate Humanities programs at New College of California. Lynn Strongin was born (1939) NYC and raised both there and in the South where her father was stationed as an Army Psychologist. Early studies in musical composition led to writing poetry. She worked for Denise Levertov in the politically vibrant Berkeley of the Sixties. John Borrero
John's found object sculptures have been described as mesmerizing, provocative, captivating, playful and disturbing… often by the same person!
Since his birth in 1969, life has carried John in many directions, to live in several different states, and in Europe, before dropping him back in New York where he began. And, what a journey it has been! Although his soul is nurtured by art and music, he is at heart a teacher and has spent the better part of his career working in inner city Head Start preschools.
John considers himself to be a storyteller. His inspiration grows from his deep love and respect for archeology, anthropology, mythology and theology. Many of his pieces reveal a feminist perspective, where others reveal a strong sense of spirituality and a personal search for the Divine in his own life.
Regardless of the angle, all of his pieces endeavor to bring to mind the vulnerability of the human experience... and of the beauty of loving that which is imperfect.

Catherine Edmunds
Catherine Edmunds was born in Kent, England, in 1959, and won her first art competition, aged six, with a charcoal drawing of a Christmas tree. Something of a Renaissance, woman, she has since worked professionally as a violinist, and also published a novel (The Sand in the Painting, ISBN 1-4241-1168-4) as well as a variety of poems and short stories in various journals and anthologies. She no longer draws Christmas trees, but now has an ever-increasing online presence as artist, specialising in fine art drawings and oil paintings.
Catherine has three grown-up children and lives with her husband in North East England, where she divides her time between painting, writing, and teaching the violin.

Alice Egoyan
I have been creating digital art since 1997, when I opened my first
website, The Keeper of Fragile Things. I cultivated a love for macro
photography & multiple exposure because I could melt images
together to create a sort of visual story. Using Photoshop helped
me expand my visions even further.
My inspiration is derived mostly from myth, religion, & fairy tales
& my artistic expression encompasses several media. I grew up
on a diet of foreign fashion magazines, modern art, classical art,
& street art~~all which have inevitably contributed to my style.
Last year, I self-published a book of my earliest artworks titled
The Intercourse of Angels.

Monica Richards
Monica Richards, best known for her musical work as half of the critically acclaimed duo, Faith and the Muse, is also a writer and multimedia artist living just north of Los Angeles. Her graphic collage
and original artwork have graced CD covers, magazine articles, and gallery walls. Best known for her larger-than-life expressive mythical symbolism, and her intense use of color and contrast, her work tends towards world-wide female deities and familiars. A graduate of American University with honors in Literature, Monica has published three books through her own company, The Mercyground. if i had one wish it would be for all of my friends to come back and live in the same tree with me for a whole day

Rich barely survived 27 years working for the NYCTA as a Bus Operator. Step to the Rear stories were compiled over several years of lunches attended by a bunch of damaged but undaunted retirees who fought for every penny they earned. Rich prays he's done justice to the stories of his brothers and sisters in arms, for he loves them dearly.

D.A. Eis lives with her children, dog and husband in Connecticut by a pond. The pond dribbles into another pond, which, after a few more dribbles, becomes, or turns into, or merges with, the Long Island Sound. The Long Island Sound touches other land bodies, one of which is Long Island, a rather phallic looking piece of land that is loud, cluttered and polluted close up, verdant and not worth discussing from a distance. Right by the Long Island, also touched by the Long Island Sound, is Manhatton. Manhatton looks as if it is going to be Madhatter, if not for the d and on, together spelling, of course, Don. I have liked every Don I have ever known.

Helen Ruggieri

Helen Ruggieri lives in Olean, NY, and has an MFA from Penn State. She teaches at the University of Pittsburgh, Bradford, PA.
She studied with Bill Stafford and tries to pass on Stafford's process, witnessing for poetry. Her work is in many magazines from Abraxas to Z Miscellaneous.
John Balaban, director of the MFA Program at the University of Miami, stated: "Ruggieri, with an intense regard for right diction and informing imagery looks at those things that come her way - both from books and from her rural river town of Olean, NY and saves them for us, saves them from passing into oblivion, saves their enduring values."
