Jon Du Pre is the weekend anchor for ABC15 News. A Phoenix market veteran, Jon came to ABC 15 from KPHO-TV where he was the main anchor for two years. Jon has extensive experience anchoring and reporting, holding anchor/reporter positions at KPNX-TV here in Phoenix, WLVI-TV in Boston, and KTVX-TV in Salt Lake City. Jon has also been a network correspondent for both FOX News Channel and America's Most Wanted.
Jon is a published author and screenwriter. His book, "The Prodigal Father - A True Story of Tragedy, Survival and Reconciliation in an American Family" is a former Amazon.com bestseller. His screenplay, based on the book, was optioned by the Disney Studios.
Jon has three children. Kasey is a member of the Cactus Shadows High School golf team; Jessie is a ballet dancer and straight A student; and Jonny is a baseball and basketball player as well as an archer. When Jon isn't in the newsroom he enjoys being involved in his children's activities, coaching their sports teams and attending dance recitals.
He is also active in the community, supporting such causes as The Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Metropolitan Phoenix, The Phoenix Children's Hospital, The Southwest Autism Research and Resource Center and efforts to aid the homeless.
