(Phoenix)- ABC15 is proud to recognize more of Arizona's Purple Heart recipients, giving them the hero's homecoming they so deserve. ABC15's Jonathan Elias, together with the Veteran's Medical Leadership Council, will welcome home 86 more of Arizona Purple Heart recipients with gift baskets and donations from Valley businesses, thanking these heroes for the contributions they've made to our nation.

ABC15 Anchor Jonathan Elias spearheaded the effort as a way to recognize the sacrifices these heroes have made. Just last month, Jonathan welcomed home six of Arizona's Purple Heart recipients in a standing room only ceremony at the VA Medical Center in Phoenix. "It's heartwarming to see a project like this grow. Just a simple thank you and welcome home goes a long way to these brave men and women," Elias said.

"Jonathan's heart really is in the right place. This is a project that he cares deeply about because it honors those who laid it on the line for all of us," Joe Hengemuehler, ABC15 News Director said.

This is a continuation of a partnership with the Veteran's Medical Leadership Council that wants to reach out to every Arizona Purple Heart recipient who served in Iraq and Afghanistan. Some of these Veterans will also be featured in ABC15's Hometown Hero segments on the air and online, highlighting the contributions and sacrifices they've made.

If you know of a Purple Heart recipient from Arizona serving in Iraq or Afghanistan, please contact ABC15.

ABC15 is thankful to Blockbuster Video, America West Express/Mesa Air, Frys Food Stores, Mastro's Steak House, Harkins Theatres, Sanderson Ford, Aura Salon, Danny's Car Wash, Arizona State Fair, St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center, Phoenix Suns and Schumacher North Scottsdale for their generous donations and support of the program.

If you are interested in donating, please contact the Veterans Medical Leadership Council, 3627 East Indian School Road Suite 209, Phoenix, 85018. Phone: (602) 957-0096 x103.
