ABC 15 Bio: Katie Raml
Katie Raml is an Emmy award-winning journalist and anchor of ABC15 News at 4, 5, 6 and 10pm.
Before coming to ABC15, Katie started at KNDU-TV in Kennewick, Washington as a general assignment reporter and then anchor for two years where she anchored the top rated Northwest Today. For the last four years, Katie has been at ABC15, first as a reporter and now main anchor.
Katie's true passion is reporting. She is honored to be your source for balanced news and information that's important to your life. In her first year at ABC15, Katie received a Rocky Mountain Emmy for her series on border issues. In 2005, Katie was named Anchor of the Year by the Associated Press and won the 2005 Emmy Award for Best Anchor. Katie was also inducted into the Walter Cronkite 2005 Hall of Fame at Arizona State University, recognizing her outstanding achievements in broadcasting.
Growing up in the Valley, she attended Laguna Elementary, Mohave Middle School, and Saguaro High School. After that it was on to the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University. She graduated with a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism along with a minor in French.
Katie is elated to be back in Phoenix with her family and friends. Besides doing things with family, she loves traveling, hiking, rollerblading, and digital photography. She is a tireless volunteer with several valley charities. She feels it's her responsibility to give back to the city where she grew up!
