2007 European Maccabi Games host selection postponed November 8, 2004 The European Maccabi Confederation, has postponed the selection of the host for the 2007 European Maccabi Games until some time early next year. It was first stated that Rome had been selected over London, Moscow and Barcelona, but that the organizers of the bid from Rome wanted 60 days to consider going ahead with the games. Gorge Games plans extensive expansion November 8, 2004 Gorge Games organizers have announced aggressive plans to grow the Gorge Games with a "Live Large Tour" in the spring 2005. The tour would include stops in Portland, Seattle, and Hood River with sporting events and educational programs to promote healthy lifestyle choices. The Gorge Games have undergone several ups and downs since their initiation almost ten years ago, attempting to expand but having trouble gaining sponsors. Plans are also being discussed to begin regional and international Gorge Games qualifying events around the globe, with a 2006 event in Europe, 2007 in Asia, and 2008 in South America. |
