Denver, Colorado will host the games in 2006, while Cowichan, British Columbia Canada has been asked to host the 2008 games.

Berlin Mayor beckons gays sports groups to get together

October 13, 2004

Klaus Wowereit, the Mayor of Berlin, has asked the Federation of Gay Games and the new Gay and Lesbian International Sports Association to meet together and iron out their differences.

The rift between the two organizations has caused there to be two international multisport events for gays in 2006.

Berlin would like to host an event in 2009 or 2010, but would prefer a unified games, and not separate events.

Copper Mountain, Colorado next Winter Gravity Games host?

October 1, 2004

The Winter Gravity Games, often announced, and seldom held, are reported to be heading to Copper Mountain, Colorado.

NBC sold the rights to the games to the Outdoor Life Network earlier this year. NBC only held the games on one occasion, in Mammoth Mountain, California in 2000.

Copper Mountain and the Outdoor Life Network are involved in negotiations, but have not yet confirmed the revival of the games.

"The most important thing in the Olympic Games is not to win but to take part, just as the most important thing in life is not the triumph but the struggle. The essential thing is not to have conquered but to have fought well."
- Baron Pierre de Coubertin, founder of the Modern Olympic Movement."
