Flu slows down Beuerlein

  Beuerlein
Quarterback Steve Beuerlein had the flu but it was the whole Carolina offense that looked sick during Sunday's 24-6 loss against the Saints. The Panthers were held to 141 yards, 10 rushing and suffered eight sacks. "I made a decision to play and the bottom line is I didn't do a good enough job," Beuerlein told The Charlotte Observer. "None of us did." According to the newspaper, Beuerlein was so sick on Saturday that he received medical attention, missed the team's charter and had to catch a later flight to New Orleans.

"They lined up and they punched us in the mouth and they said, 'Do you like that? We'll punch you again in the mouth.' And they punched us again in the mouth."
