Cardinals center fielder Jim Edmonds, named to his second All-Star team on Wednesday
, and starting first baseman Mark McGwire were joined on the National League All-Star team by Cardinals righthander Darryl Kile. Kile (11-5) made the team in 1993 and 1997 for Houston but did not pitch in either game. Edmonds, who turned 30 on June 27 and is hitting .342 with 24 homers, made his other All-Star Game appearance in 1995 with the Angels.
