BOB Yak 16 and Coz
BOB Yak 16 and Coz
There's only one trailer you can take down a fast singletrack, and it's got only one wheel. Yes, the BOB Yak is the trailer the mountain-bikers take seriously - it's simple, it's light and it goes almost anywhere. But the BOB Yak has a lot to offer on-road, too. When you're not using it for a camping tour you can take it out on a shopping trip: its narrow profile gives easy passage through congested traffic, and when you're out in the open you benefit from the Yak's excellent aerodynamics, and from the low rolling resistance of the durable 16" high pressure tyre. Even better, the low fixing point and centre of gravity minimise any effect on the lead bike's handling. At 5.6kg the Yak is one of the lightest trailers on the market, but can carry up to 32kg, thanks to its rigid cro-moly steel frame. A water-resistant ' Yak Sak' made of rip-stop nylon keeps your load dry and clean, and can improve the aerodynamics of awkward loads.

The 8.6kg Coz trailer has the same excellent handling as the Yak, but it packs away into its own 52 x 39 x 26cm waterproof box. With a 23kg load capacity, this is a great trailer for the traveller.

Both Yak and Coz attach via a specially-modified quick-release skewer (extras are available for your second bike). You simply take out your existing rear axle and put in the new skewer, which can stay there permanently. This simple technique means that virtually any bike - ATB, tandem or recumbent - can be converted with ease to pull a Yak. Special 'BOB NUTZ' are available for solid-axle hubs, tandem hubs or hub gears, and all BOB trailers come with a safety flag, mudguard (fender) and reflectors.
