With YouTube these days, that teaches you just about everything, will dojos go out of business?
Hello,
You want to know how to defend yourself against, say a chock hold, YouTube will give you minimum 5 different ways to do it. You want to learn to do, say a roundhouse kick, punch, block, etc, YouTube has tutorials on that. Want to learn how to defend against a knife attack, YouTube has tutorials on that. Want to learn how to deal with weapons, there are tutorials on that. All you need to do is find a partner to practice and spar with. With YouTube and the internet, will dojo's become obsolete?

Would you try a spinning hook kick or a jump spinning hook kick in a real life street fight?
Hi there,
I understand that due to the momentum in the spinning, a spinning hook (aka. heal kik) kick and a jump spinning hook kick are among the most destructive kicks in all of martial arts. You land one of these, the opponent is not getting up for sure. But, in the split second you turn your back and the enemy moves in on you, you will be on the ground and possible killed.
Have you or would you try this in a real life street fight where you are literally fighting for your life?

Do people know how to defend themselves even if they're not formally trained in martial arts? ?
For some context, most of my friends are not formally trained in such traditional martial arts like Taekwondo, Muay Thai, and others, but when I asked some of them, they responded they don't have time or knew what they had to do. Help a fellow warrior out on this, please tell me I'm not alone in this curious question.

Do you agree with this that some people say?
That you stand no chance against a professional MMA fighter ( even in a no-rules street fight ) in case you don't train to compete in MMA or UFC even if you train in one or more martial arts for many years. That maybe implies that generally traditional martial artists stand no chance against professional MMA/UFC fighters ( not even on the street ) even if they have lots of years of constant training.

Can a person who's not physically strong but been trained in martial arts etc beat up a huge physically strong bodybuilder ? read below?
Can a person who's not physically strong but been trained in martial arts, boxing etc beat up a huge physically strong bodybuilder if they're technically skilled ? a security guard at my college who was in his 50's or 60's age wise (he was about 5 foot 6 in height and quite well built) told me it doesn't matter how big or strong they are, this security guard was trained in boxing, karate, muay thai and kung fu and he said it's about technique not strength.
