1 Maureen Lipman Reads Jill Tomlinson's 'The Otter Who Wanted To Know' - 28 Tracks On 1 CD - Jill Tomlinson

Product description

Pat is an adorable little sea otter. She likes turning up her toes and floating in the sea, chasing fish and asking a hundred and one questions. One day Pat makes friends with another otter, called Bobby. The two enjoy playing and exploring together, until their lives are unexpectedly turned upside down when they get caught up in a storm and washed ashore on an island. Suddenly Pat doesn't have time to ask any questions, and even if she did, no one would know the answers. This time Pat just has to find things out for herself, to get back home to her family again.Maureen Lipman reads this classic children's story about an inquisitive baby otter who has a big adventure, from bestselling author Jill Tomlinson, whose books have been hugely popular for nearly thirty years. Told in clear, simple language, they are ideal for young listeners, who can identify with the baby animals and their adventures. "The Otter Who Wanted to Know" is an enchanting tale that will appeal to any child who loves animals or who has ever asked 'why'?

My child adores this book. We could only buy it in a set from our local shop so I was happy to find it on amazon on its own 😄

We read this book in primary school and since I had my children I’ve been desperate to get it for them but couldn’t remember what it was called. I was Googling anything and everything I could think of in the story when I suddenly remembered the name Bobby and I found it. Absolutely beautiful story which is read regularly in our house now.

Another lovely story by Jill Tomlinson. Great story about an Otter who gets rescued by humans,a story told from a very different view point. Helps give children an idea of Sea Otters life, so is information giving as well as being a story. I certainly learn t about these lovely creatures.

My 5 year old son loves these stories. They are gentle and informative about animals without having "baddies" in them. Perfect bedtime read.

Inglés sencillo y fácil de comprender. Narración dinámica. Además de aprender inglés, los niños aprenden los hábitos de las nutrias.

My daughter and I read Plop,  The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark  together as her first chapter book. She really liked it so I looked for others that were similar. I did not know Jill Tomlinson had other animal ones and had not read this before but was pleasantly surprised.
Pat the Otter has the same things we liked about Plop - animals, details (like how she keeps her pebble under her armpit and uses it to open shellfish) and a story that keeps you wanting to know what will happen next. The book arrived on friday and we had finished it by sunday even though we were only supposed to be reading one chapter at bedtime and one at naptime, we couldn't wait to find out whet would happen! The language is not dumbed down either, there are a few tricky words but its good to help expand vocabulary. We plan to buy more of the others listed at the back of the book - Otto the Penguin, Hilda the Hen and so on.
