I love ut. Was a bit concerned I wouldn't get the bbc iPlayer like another reviewer suggested but I got it no bother. I love the bigger screen and cameras. It's so easy to use very pleasing.

this is a nice bit of kit, but a few things wrong with it, 1st and most important No google apps (apart from 3rd party ones) no play store gmail etc, so i hand to transfer them via my phone which become my 2nd issue, does not support file transfer of files via Bluetooth, so had to upload the .apk files upto my Google drive then download to the fire7, all apps worked apart from, yeah you guessed right my Google apps, firstly i dont trust using 3rd party apps, and some are actually trying to charge yo9u, coz they know you will need them, and my other issue is that the power button is so freaking tiny, the bluetooth and tiny buttons not such a big deal, but the google apps, oh just one more this it does not have a micro sd card, and even tho it says 8gb, you're left with around 5gb or so to play around with, other wise a good product

I purchased this to replace my old, broken Kindle Fire, and was interested in how it would compare with my previous model. As with all kindles, it is exceptionally easy to setup, which is one of the reasons why I always prefer Amazon gadgets to any others. My technical knowledge is not great, but I had this up and running within minutes - you merely link up to your wifi and register it to your account and everything is there for you to use. Although I haven't had a Kindle Fire for a few months, everything I had brought previously for my old model was available in my Cloud and ready to be used on this version.
This has a camera, front and back, which my old version never had. I have already used it at a school assembly to take some pictures and it was easy to use and a really good addition. The other thing I like about it is that I can set up profiles for my children - which is something new and a very useful idea. This means that all my children's apps, books, etc can live in one place and not clutter up my screen and you can also set up parental controls to stop them from viewing anything unsuitable. There is even the choice of setting daily goals and time limits, which you might find useful. Of course, the Kindle Fire is linked in largely to Amazon products and, so, it depends on how much you use them or mind being tied in with one particular company. Personally, as I buy virtually all my books via Kindle (the other site I use a lot is NetGalley and they can also download directly to your kindle), listen to Audible books and find that the apps available for my children are more than enough, it works very well for me. Reading on the Fire is probably not as good as a Kindle ereader; although for colour picture books for children or magazines, it works very well indeed. Overall, it is a handy little tablet which does everything I need. You are slightly limited in being tied in to Amazon products, but only you can decide whether or not that works for you.

After recent upgrades to iTunes and iOs on iPad, I have been left with an iPad that does not sync music anymore, and needs a factory reset I'm unwilling to do, due to losing data.
So, I've transferred all my work over to one of these. Got the 16gb model and paid to not have ads.
Had to phone Amazon to get ads removed.
Everything, EVERYTHING, is better than iPad, it's fast, smooth, has a better multitasking system, for switching between apps, every built in app, from photo viewing to alarm clock is smoother. Display is better. Typing keyboard is more intuitive.
The only niggles are a bug in calender that shows all day events up across two days in month and week view phoned them about this, and they say have passed info on to tech.
And Amazon's, app store! I don't mind sideloading apps now and again, but the Amazon app store folks need to make a real effort to get all the good releases from other stores on there. Lots of games with the usual awful Android ads on, but a few premium games missing, that are avail on Google play and Apple app store.
This is just lack of communication and cooperation I guess.
All in all, a great tablet, spent about 20 quid on apps to view, edit, sync all my office docs, spreadsheet etc, and although you can send docs to cloud, it's less clunky to just usb sync docs to Android file transfer on a Mac, so you can choose the destination folder on the kindle.

I bought this to replace my original Kindle Fire which had died a death. Although this is slightly lighter and the screen resolution is better and apps load faster; the biggest disappointment for me is that BBC iplayer is not compatible with this, one of the newest Kindle Fire devices.

I got this kindle deliverd on Friday I checked the product on Saturday and when I played around with it I noticed that the product did not work properly. I then got in touch with Amazon and they said ok we send you a new one when I recieve the new I should check it if happy send the other one back to them, they said I should recieve it on Tuesday. I was happy to know I was getting a new one soon but something happend on Sunday morning about 8am on a Sunday morning the door rang and I opened the door what gets deliverd my new kindle fire I was absolutely gob smacked can any one tell me if thers any other company that works this good this fast? I don't think so I just want to say a massive thank you to Amazon such a great company to shop from love you guys so much many many thanks for your services. And coming to the product it's great so light, it's fast, sharp pic quality I love it and recommend to all. Again many thanks Amazon I'll be carrying on shopping from you.
