Really like this film. There have been a few dodgy reviews so wasn't sure what to expect but I needn't have worried as it is fast, exciting and very very entertaining. Although I have always loved Zombie movies I have always thought to myself "how could you possibly be caught by them and eaten when they are so slow to move". That is not the case here - here they are very very fast and that would be scary. If you haven't seen this but like Zombie flicks then I am sure you will love it. Go and buy!!

Firstly, I do not care about zombies. I love horror, and ghost movies and fantasy, but zombies are just not for me. Anyway, "World War Z" starring Brad Pitt and getting a lot of buzz, I gave it a go. I read the book, which, apart from the setting and a few scenes, has nothing in common with the film - but, in my opinion, it's a good thing - the film had a proper story! I am sure you will appreciate this film more than me if you have a specific interest in all things zombie. I give it 3 stars only because it's better than the book.

Here, the two-hour story is about the ex-UN employee Gerry Lane (Pitt), who flies around the globe in hope to find answers and find cure to the dangerous "disease" which is threatening to wipe out humanity itself.

The special effects are on a larger scale (if you like that sort of thing - think "300"). The zombies prey upon people in great leaps, they are the predator, the pantera of the undead (and here I thought zombies are supposed to be slow-moving and lethargic). The rest of the film is like one big cauldron of short sequences of war against undead, sometime it's so fake looking it feels like a computer game, it's all pretty illogical and you are never left in suspense for more than a minute.

And last but not least: don't fear, Brad Pitt saved the world.

Max Brook's book produced a very ride ranging treatment of the "practicalities" of zombie warfare. The film concentrates on some areas of the book but also adds a Walking Dead family (you know the ones, mom seems oblivious to people being eaten, and the kids cannot obey even the simplest command) plus a bad attack of the Noisy Moves (in which even the simplest stroll is accompanied by stuff being dropped, kicked, knocked over or creaking). The result is a simple grab at involvement where a cleverer treatment might have impressed more. The zombies were very good with their ant-like speed and tactics.

For anyone who enjoys Zombie movies, this is one of the best I've seen. Action packed and intense in places. It dips into elements from the Max Brooks' novel of the same name (which I thought was a great read). The beauty of it is that it didn't need to resort to showing extreme gore. The psychological impact of such an apocalypse was seen in the mindless way the zombies attacked - at speed and in great numbers.
The Bluray has additional footage that blended in so seamlessly that it was hard to believe that it was not there in the theatrical version.

World War Z is ultimately classed as a great Zombie film. Don't usually watch Bead Pitt films but I can safely say that he was excellent throughout the film. Watched this film in the cinema and was gripped as soon as the film started. Now can't wait for the sequel movie to be produced and come out in the cinema.

Great action film, good for all the family to watch(older kids of course) really enjoyed the story, made you feel the panic
That was going on as some of the crowd footage was like watching a news clip.

Great film really got into it . Effects were good especially when they were trying to get over the large wall around the city . .
