Had a life long fascination for watches, fulfilled largely by having a few top brand examples over the years. Wanted a rugged watch for everyday wear; gardening, car tinkering etc.. Preferring mechanical over electronic, I was interested to see the buyers' comments on the reasonably priced 8926 from Amazon. It started well, delivered two days ahead of schedule. Having worn it every day for the past six weeks, now feel qualified to form an opinion. Arrived with a generous bracelet length, easily tailored to fit with help of a repair kit, less than 5 at Amazon. First impressions, solid, rugged, nothing "cheap" about it, in appearance very similar indeed to the Su*****ner! A well tried design, if you will, so no problems there. Time keeping; for the past 15 days it has not gained or lost more than 1second, as checked against my radio-controlled atomic clock regulated time keeper. I calculate that to mean that its visible balance wheel has ticked nearly 8 million beats in that time, and is no more than 6 beats adrift! That puts this watch among the very best mechanical time-keepers, at any price, in my experience. Perhaps I am lucky, as the retail price cannot allow much for individual regulation of each movement off the production line.Whether it lasts awaits to be seen, but delivered to my doormat for less than the cost of a tankful of motor fuel, anything beyond 12 months would be outstanding value. Would I buy another? You bet, I already have one in mind!
