What is Amazon Prime?

Amazon Prime is a membership programme that gives you and your family fast and unlimited One-Day delivery for eligible purchases for an annual membership fee of GBP 79.00. You'll also be entitled to reduced rates on upgrades to Express and Evening Delivery. Amazon Prime includes Prime Instant Video, giving you access to more than 15,000 movies and TV episodes. Members who own Kindle devices can borrow popular Kindle books at no extra cost, as frequently as one book per month, from the Kindle Owners' Lending Library. Choose from over 350,000 titles, including all seven Harry Potter books and other top sellers in the Amazon.co.uk Kindle Store.

Eligible customers can try out membership with a Free Trial.

Prime Instant Video is also available as a standalone membership for £5.99 per month. Learn more About Prime Instant Video.

I'm an Amazon Prime member but I was charged for delivery when I didn't expect to be. What's happened?

If you were charged for delivery your item may not have been eligible for Amazon Prime delivery benefits. For example, the following items don't qualify:

  • Amazon.co.uk Gift Certificates
  • products fulfilled by Amazon.co.uk Marketplace Sellers

If only some items in your order are eligible for Amazon Prime you'll be charged applicable delivery fees for the ineligible items.

Your membership may have expired. Check your membership expiry date in Your Account.

My order arrived later than I expected. What happens now?

If your order doesn't arrive when you expect it should from what we've told you, please let us know by clicking on the "Contact us" button on the right of this page.

Does my membership renew automatically?

Yes, your membership is set up to automatically renew annually. You can use Your Account to choose not to renew or to update your preferred payment method for membership renewals. If your preferred method is unavailable (for example, a credit card has expired), for your convenience we'll use another payment method we have on record for you. Your initial sign-up is an authorisation for us to use the preferred or other available payment methods.

I'm a Prime member. Why am I getting Expedited Delivery instead of One-Day Delivery?

Items not available for immediate dispatch aren't eligible for One-Day Delivery. For these purchases, you'll be offered Expedited Delivery during checkout, which is also available to Prime members at no extra cost and uses fast delivery methods to ensure that the product gets to you quickly after it becomes available to be dispatched. The Product Detail page and the checkout pages will include information about the estimated number of days required for the eligible items to be dispatched.

For any single order of 12 or more different items, One-Day Delivery can't be offered because of the complexity of the order, even though all items individually could be available for immediate dispatch. If One-Day Delivery is required for at least some of the items in the order, we recommend placing a separate order for these items.

I'm an Amazon Family or Amazon Student member. Where can I find information about the Amazon Prime benefits included with my membership?
