Very good product. Nice performance. On MacBook with USB 3.0, through hub or direct, there is no difference on transfer. When using without power-adapter, there is a difference about 5% on performance, which is still ok.

Great Value - High Speed - Does the job,

I had previously bought a Patriot Magnum 128g USB (also superb). Unfortunately its quite wide so I decided on a USB 3.0 hub. Bought a hub with card reader but it kept dropping the hi-speed USB Patriot. Ordered the AmazonBasics and was delivered next day! It does the job! Patriot is stable and has never dropped. It still operates at a fantastic speed. Thought the hub was heavy but then realised it contained an external power supply (optional). The hub is actually light and compact. Great value and I'm pleased to say it.

I bought this because I wanted a better quality product than some others I'd seen. I figured the slightly higher price and the Amazon seal of approval meant it was worthwhile. And indeed, it's pretty good, I like it, looks nice, it works with no hitches. I like the short captive cable because it's for my laptop so I don't want to be carrying around a long cable plus a separate USB hub. I haven't tested the USB3 operation so I can't say if that works.

Power But No USB,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: AmazonBasics 4-Port USB 3.0 Hub with UK Plug (Personal Computers)
The hub I received drew power and passed it on to USB devices both from a USB3 socket and the supplied mains adaptor, but that was it. It wasn't recognised as a USB hub by any machine that I plugged it into (and I have a considerable number, on different OSs) and nothing I plugged into it was detected by the host machine.
I've seen other reviews that report the same thing. A bad batch, or just a bad product?

Avoid
Does not work - likely to be the result of a bad manufacturing batch. Amazon appear to be going down market

It didn't work on my systems, but no other 4 port USB3 hub has worked on any of my systems.
