I read the reviews and visited the Kingston website before buying the SSD upgrade bundle, never having used an SSD before, and I recommend you do so too.
Everything worked exactly as it was supposed to do, but note that there are no instructions in the box so make sure you download them from the Kingston site first - and print them (select just the relevant language section, otherwise you will get about 300 pages) or read them on another device. The cloning software worked faultlessly, but it helps to have the printout of what messages to expect along the way.
There was one error message near the end of the process, I chose 'ignore' and the program completed the transfer, and nothing bad had happened yet.
This drive is fitted in a notebook so no extra bracket is needed, and I thought it was missing from the pack. However its under the top foam packing piece and its bright blue!
Read the faqs on the website, there are useful tips including a warning about removing your windows user password before cloning - you can of course reinstate it after the changeover.
The old drive, which is getting bad sectors, is still usable as an external usb drive.
I have no idea how this drive compares with others, but the bundle makes it extremely easy to install and clone the old hd, so it worked for me. And yes, the ssd is quieter and faster too!

I have just installed 2 of these SSD's into my HP DV8 laptop was unsure about doing this. Been looking for replacement drives for about a year now, with all HP laptops you get recovery partitions and I didn't want to lose any of the original set-up of the laptop. The set-up was straight forward you can set the software to run in automatic and let the software resize your partitions or like me I ran one in manual to adjust the set-up of the drive. I was amazed when I booted the laptop for the first time and checked my drives, all my partitions was as original HP set-up in naming and the sizes I wanted. Please bare in mind I had to resize down my partitions from 320gb to 240gb so do check that your not going to lose any data on the transfer. The speed of the DV8 is awsome I knew their was more life in the laptop :) brilliant product. Do check Kingston website for videos on how this all works if unsure and its not a quick job it took me 3 hours to data transfer 2 drives.

The difference is amazing but it takes a bit of setting up. There are instructions how to do this and software to transfer your files

I've just spent a small fortune in building a new gaming/high performance computer for the first time. This accessory pack makes life so much simpler, as it comes with so many nifty bits and bobs! Namely a 2 head magnetic Kingston HyperX screwdriver (which I used for the rest of the build), a USB enclosure for portable storage, 3.5" to 2.5" drive mount and all the data cables!
The one thing I found difficult about choosing an SSD is the massively varying opinion on reliability and performance. Kingston is a well-known make for memory, and they are for a reason. It came beautifully packaged (and is beautifully designed), installs extremely easily and is also quite simply one of the best performers on the market (from a few available benchmarks online). It reads and writes incredibly fast - I can't believe the little time it takes to boot windows or even install/copy large programs and files. Every time I see the install bar ramp up as quick as it does makes me happy inside.
In short, highly recommended, specifically this kit over the lone drive, it's roughly the same price (at this point) and it really does feel like you are getting you're money's worth. Spending more for the Kingston name is something I would do again.

Ok i am a big computer upgrade fan...
Always looking to speed up my pc's and have The Best.
Being skeptical kind of person, i couldnt see how a hard drive could increase the speed of my pc over a ram/processor upgrade...
but after getting a new motherboard, new quad processor, new ram and new power pack (also speeding it up), the only thing left was my hdd to upgrade.
After seeing reviews on google for SSD hard drives i thought try and see (still not imagining it would make a huge difference).
I was wrong, VERY WRONG!
From pressing the power button on the pc to having desktop loaded (and may i note READY to use i.e. every thing loaded) it took 5 seconds. Even the windows logo didnt have time to load fully on the windows 7 start screen.
5 seconds to start from cold! very very impressive!
opening videos/photos/music happends instantly (no waiting for thumbnails to load).
Google earth runs perfectly and smoothly.
I did a fps test with the old hdd (same hardware otherwise) on counterstrike's video stress test.
Old hdd 17.80fps.
SSD (new) 240gb 71.18fps
Also i have a network hdd that has some videos and photos on, the old hdd used to take about 20 seconds to load and see in a folder all data. The SSD loaded it again instantly (even though it is a network hdd).
Over all very impressed and highly recommend this to anyone.
The clone software is easy to do also.
plug in your ssd as a slave harddrive in your already built system...
turn on, insert the cd....
shut down...
power up again but press F1/F2/DEL/F10 (to enter the BIOS screen)...
on the boot option, make the cdrom the first seen device over the hdd...
