'Grey' Import Macbook Air,
By Gary Matthews (South, UK) - See all my reviews

This review is from: Apple MD760B/A 13.3 inch MacBook Air Dual Core i5 , 1.3GHz, Turbo Boost 4GB Ram ,128HDD, Intel HD Graphic 5000 2 x USB 3.0 Mac OX and iLife (Personal Computers)
I ordered this item before reading the reviews, and when i read the only negative review, my heart sank! I was so caught up and frustrated at the fact it didn't have a UK keyboard i was ready to send it back before it even arrived.
So it came to the arrival day, it arrived in the morning, I opened the box and took the mac out, opened it, and it was indeed an AMERICAN keyboard. But you know what, i fell in love straight away and it doesn't make a blind bit of difference to the functionality or the image of the mac! You can barely notice! and all my friends that have Macs didn't even realise when they looked/used it. I love it, and to be honest i paid 825 for a 999 Mac! If your skeptical about the American Keyboard don't be! BATTERY life is amazing! when using it just for browsing and writing documents, it lasted 13hrs 12mins. When i play Football Manager 2013 non-stop it last around 5 hours. BUILD quality is amazing, its so sleek and thin yet reassuringly robust, theres no screen wobble when travelling on the train, bending or distortion. SCREEN is amazing. Even though it isn't retina display, i didn't mind the slight loss of sharpness at all! the colours are full and bright and text is plenty sharp enough to not have any problems reading. KEYBOARD is extremely easy to type on with satisfying key feedback, and the key light feature not only looks amazing but is very useful at night. SUMMARY This item (although an import) is definitely worth the purchase. once you have the mac on your desk, you will realise how irrelevant the keyboard situation is. i promise you won't be disappointed! If there's anything else you'd like to know, feel free to ask!

I bought this when it was at just 750 which was an absolute steal. Fantastic little laptop- fast and responsive.
Personally, I prefer Windows but Mac OSX is simple and easy to operate- good for a novice user or something like that.

Apple not acknowledging sleep problem,

This is my second Mac and I was very pleased with it until it started having a major problem that Apple seem to refuse to acknowledge. When I put the Mac to sleep by closing the lid, it will not wake up again once I open the lid. I just get a black screen. The only way to wake up the Mac is to force a hard reset. If you go on discussions.apple.com or just Google this issue, you will see that many users are experiencing it. There is even a Facebook page now to try to force Apple to do something about it. Everyone with the problem, including me, has been told by Apple that a replacement Mac is out of the question (unless you return it within 14 days) and technical advisers continue to try giving fixes over the phone, but I have already made four calls to Apple with four different fixes and am still getting the problem. I understand that problems arise, but with a 1000 product and no option to have it replaced??

and then some!
I'm an Apple fan and have been for some time. I have an iMac and an iPad and are primarily using them for business. Whilst I love my iPad it falls short in terms of the ability to be truly productive. iPad Apps are great for tweaks and working on the move but in my opinion serious business applications still work best when you originate them on a "proper" computer be it a desktop or laptop using the full blown programmes. I do however LOVE the portability of iPad, battery life, instant on and "it just works" context. A perfect blend of desktop and iPad is the Macbook Air. It is both light enough to carry and powerful enough to run full applications giving access to all your favourite programmes in their native environment. Here's why I love my MacBook Air: - It runs all my favourite programmes, iWork, Photoshop, Keynote etc in ALL their glory - It's extremely light and portable - I love flipping the lid and it's ready to go - INSTANTLY - It integrates beautifully with Apple TV meaning you can mirror your desktop for presentations - The Flash memory means it's lightening fast - programmes open and respond instantly - Two USB ports and a thunderbolt connection is perfectly adequate - Although a Mac enthusiast, you can of course run Apple versions of Microsoft Programmes (Word, Powerpoint, Excel etc) and have the full Windows experience by installing Bootcamp etc - Cloud based services as provided by Google, Dropbox, iCloud etc mean that I'm not storing huge amounts of files on my MacBook making the 128GB flash drive adequate for my resources. If you're planning on storing music, photos and video invest in the biggest drive you can afford. - Windows users nervous to change should not worry. I estimate that a competent Windows user will learn all the basics of "Mac life" in a few hours of delightful discovery. You should however ensure that all your critical programmes work on a Mac before you buy if you're not planning to use Bootcamp or equivalent. Hope that helps and if you buy a MacBook Air I would like to welcome you to my world! Tim

Five stars seems just right for this product, it's sleek and stylish. Like many I thought the American keyboard would be a problem but no it's absolutely fine. I only have one gripe- the charger worked for all of five minutes then broke which I was very unhappy about but amazon gave me a 5% refund which was enough to get a new charger (not apple) but the reviews were really good and it's charging my mac now. And the price...well that's not to be sniffed at at789 with free next day delivery!!! Very happy.

1.The US keyboard is so useful as I spend 50% of my time on the other side of the pond.
2.The bonus is a US adaptor and UK one both supplied by Apple, yes the real Apple. No more looking for adaptors. 3.$$$$$ sign for my business and easy to change to Sterling. 4.Apple support was free on phone and you should use it ...fantastic. 5.The keyboard lights up beautifully for working on flights or poor working conditions. A bargain price for me enjoy

Unless you're a professional image/video editor and really need massive graphical and processing power, this is the ultimate laptop. Light, extremely durable (dropped twice!), starts instantly and the battery life is ridiculous.

The computer is according to all my expectations and I don't have any problem with the delivery.
For windows users, is hard the begging, but in some days everything is easy.

Just a word of warning. I would advise you to contact the individual sellers and ask the following questions:
1) Does it have a UK keyboard? 2) Will you provide a VAT receipt? Just because it is "Fulfilment by Amazon" does not mean you will receive a VAT receipt. It also means that Amazon will not warranty the item and they will push you towards the seller if there is an issue. If you are not bothered then you will save a hundred pounds or so - if you are VAT registered you will lose out of course.

There was a time when it was safe to order from amazon, now they're "fulfilling" so many orders from different sellers you cannot trust them, may as well buy from ebay. I ordered this thinking amazon would be selling nothing other than a brand new UK spec Macbook Air with British layout keyboard. Instead you get a US layout keyboard (no sign, small enter key etc). Really annoyed at amazon for not making this clear on the product page given the high price of the item, it's a big purchase for many people.
