1.0 out of 5 stars What a waste of money! 12 April 2014

I normally like the Saturday sessions and listening live to the mumbling Dermot, however this is a travesty of bad, painful at times, covers and acoustic versions of artists own songs. From the cat strangling London Grammar murdering Wicked Game, to the out of tune Biffy Clyro who defile Daft Punk I would only say to people considering this purchase to SAVE your money! A do not buy. :-(

2.0 out of 5 stars Hard work! 5 April 2014
Format:Audio CD|Amazon Verified Purchase
Oh god this was a struggle! Listening to 2 cds of largely whiny sound-alikes.It could easily have been boiled down to one of performances of much quality and originality.Over two cds the mediocrity of many of the acts is exposed..Prepare to be bored for a lot of the time...or download only the acts you like.Great for getting to sleep.

3.0 out of 5 stars Weak 13 April 2014

The photo is the clue, showing Dermot O'Leary channeling Val Doonican. The songs are mostly weak cover versions, although Back to Black achieves poignancy in the wake of Amy Winehouse's demise. The one real spark of imagination is the Turin Brakes' version of Chim Chim Cheree, which makes the most of the sparse lyrics by introducing a manic instrumental section and does its best to separate the song's genius from Dick Van Dyke's infamous butchering. The second disc is better, which at least provides some relief. I give that 4/5.
