EDIT: When I first reviewed these the price was 30GBP so I took a star off for VFM. I just noticed that they are now down to 17GBP, so back to 5 stars and changed heading to 'Good value set'. It may be worth checking out the links for the alternative packs as prices fluctuate on Amazon quite regularly and you might get a better deal.

I can't quite see what the difference is!
Price aside, these bottles are very good.
Out of the box the bottle looks sleek, stylish and comfortable to hold. It feels well made and whilst I am not ready to throw it around I feel confident that it won't shatter or crack if dropped onto a solid floor.
A chunky thread on the neck ensures a quick assembly with a secure clamping of the teat. As expected teats are interchangeable and replacements can be sought as your child grows. The neck of the bottle is wide and easy to fill even with an unsteady hand. Read more ›

This Avent starter set is ideal for mothers who want to express milk because they aren't always able to breastfeed their babies. The bottles (2 large, 2 small) have natural teats which make your baby's bottle-feeding experience feel like actual breastfeeding. Also included are a bottle cleaner and dummy. A breast pump would have made the set complete, but at least the bottles are compatible with Avent breast pumps (manual or electric).

If like us you are breastfeeding then this is an essential purchase.
The name Avent on a product has always screamed quality and I have yet to purchase anything from Avent that has not lived up to the reputation. The set comprises of 4 different size bottles with a variety of teats, it also come with a brush and a dummy (soother/pacifier if your American). The teats replicate nipples in such a way that they are perfect for breastfeeding dads like myself, mum can express some milk before bed and dad can do some night feeds, these teats are slow flow which again is perfect for breast milk as regular ones have a fast flow and as anyone who is breastfeeding knows you don't want baby guzzling breast milk as fast and easy as formula from a bottle. The dummy we did not use as we opted for no dummy, noisy house and no lights on at bedtime (the cruel to be kind option) the brush I don't quite understand to be honest generally bottles are rinsed out as soon as they are used then sterilized but I suppose if your making formula you may get a residue.
Smaller bottles sizes are really perfect for breast milk for for the very early day and the addition of slowflow teats make this the perfect set for breast feeding dads who wanna help out there over worked mum.
As a tip I would shop around for price as this seems to fluctuate on amazon quite significantly.

This lovely little starter set is just perfect for use alongside breastfeeding. I believe that it is important that, once breastfeeding is established, you teach your baby to be able to accept milk from a bottle. This doesn't have to be formula milk, as you can use it with expressed breast milk inside. the importance of teaching a baby to feed from a bottle means that it is easier if you need to mix in medicine, or if mum needs to be apart from her baby for a short while.
The set includes four different size bottles, teats, a dummy, and a bottle brush. Absolutely perfect for parents who are only using them part time. The teats are marketed as being 'natural' and shaped in such a way that baby can easily switch from breast to bottle without any upset. The teats are slow flowing, and this makes it easier to use in conjunction with breastfeeding, as many babies prefer faster flowing teats as they are less work than feeding from the breast.
The bottles make use of two anti-colic valves. This could be of great use to new parents with colicky babies.

Pretty good starter set; four bottles in total of varying sizes, a dummy and a bottle cleaner. Nice wide bottles, easy to grip and the teats felt rather natural and worked well administering the liquid. A decent set all in all.

I've always liked and trusted the Avent brand and can say this set is excellent value. It contains 4 BPA free bottles of two sizes; 125ml and 260ml which is good value along with the bottle brush. I don't use the dummy but it is nice that it is included for those who require it. This is a good value product for parents in the ever growing list of things to buy for their new baby.
