All is well, until she's given a sphere containing a recording - the truth of which may change things forever…! Final Fantasy X-2 HD Remaster is your chance to finish up the story which started in Final Fantasy X, and we're delighted to be bringing the adventure to you in a specially remastered HD package.

Product Description

Square Enix announced that HD remakes of Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2 will be arriving later this year. This weekend the company unveiled the first trailer for the remastered adventures of Tidus and Yuna.

"These games are classic fan-favorites, and we hope that new and old Final Fantasy fans can experience the world of Spira and the story of Tidus and Yuna in a brand-new light with these remastered editions," said Yoshinori Kitase, producer of both games.

Final Fantasy X

Final Fantasy X is the first title in this landmark RPG series to be released for the PlayStation 2. The main characters are Tidus, a star of blitzball (a hugely popular sport in the Final Fantasy universe) and Yuna, who has learned the art of summoning and controlling aeons, powerful spirits of yore. These two people of different backgrounds must work together as they journey through the world of Spira. This instalment of Final Fantasy has a distinctly Asian influence, bringing a fresh feel to the characters, music, settings, and story.

Features include voice-overs for the first time in the series (utilising the "Facial Motion System"), high polygon, motion-captured player characters designed by Tetusya Nomura, and a camera that automatically adjusts its perspective to correspond with the movements of the characters, a feature now possible due to the title now being largely polygonal.

  • Voice-overs will be featured for the first time in the series, utilizing the Facial Motion System
  • High-polygon, motion-captured player characters, designed by Tetsuya Nomura, bring lifelike realism to the screen
  • The camera will automatically shift its perspective to correspond with the movements of the characters, a feature now possible due to the title being largely polygonal
  • Characters will be able to rotate in and out of the party ev

Ive literally been waiting years for the chance to play this game again, since selling my ps2 to afford my ps3..... and WOW it was worth the wait!

The HD in this game looks absolutely amazing, even after all these years I can see the difference, when Wakka hands Tidus his brothers sword the effects on the sword are amazing.

Admittedly Ive only just reached Kilika after the sin attack but im massively enjoying the game so far, you have no idea the relief when I heard Besaids music after battling my way through Zanarkand and the ruins, this for me is the most tedious part of the game due to the amount of cut scenes and tutorials, once you leave Besaid though the adventure truly begins! Meeting the likes of Kimahri, Lulu, Rikku and numerous other characters! For me Lulu was my favourite character as she was insanely powerful from the beginning.

Lets not lie, the game is very linear for the first 15-20 hours but it does open up massively with loads of additional side quests. However, the story driven throughout the game is very compelling. Tidus, son of Jecht is thrust into a world unknown to him by an entity only known as Sin, he quickly realises that this is no dream and makes allies with Yuna, a Summoner who has been selected to travel the lands to defeat Sin, they are accompanied by her 'guardians' who each have their own ability and perks. Tidus/Wakka are warriors, Yuna is a summoner/white mage, Lulu is a Black mage, Rikku is a Thief, Auron is a Guard/Warrior and Kimahri is a Blue mage.

The Character development in this game is amazing, you see Tidus turn from a stroppy loud boy in a strong wise man, along the course of the game as well you notice that he changes his stance in battle when he matures.

5.0 out of 5 stars It is as good as you remember 2 April 2014

I love it, it's great, it took 5 minutes for me to be cracking a smile at Tidus, The characters are just spot on. Once again it's one of the few games where you actually care about what happens to these people.

Oh and my 8 year old loves it (we were late for school this morning because we needed to get to the end of that bloody long road!

FF10-2 I know less well as I never got into it first time round so this is more a review for FF10.

Anyway, great game, great value for money!

So over the years, there have been countless numbers of games. Many - if we are honest....most - were of their time and today would be nearly unplayable, however this isn't the case for all of them.
Few should want to move a small blue blob pretending to be a hedgehog around a fuzzy basic landscape anymore, and we've all fallen asleep rescuing the princess by bouncing on mushrooms far too many times.
There are however some games, especially perhaps ones with strong stories, which richly deserve a re-release on current generation. A big problem with last generation is that it's almost incompatible with HD tv's, so it's not even as if we could just buy an old PS2 and hook it up, unless we had an old CRT tv in the loft.

This is where a HD re-release comes in, and the excitement upon finding FFX was due for release can't be understated. Maybe not least because FF15 doesn't have a definite release yet and will be on PS4 (Which is very early days and a bit niche still).

So about the game, well the restoration is a curious thing. Parts, especially the textures wouldn't be out of place in current generation, they're that good.
A problem with old PS2 games, is that they had that "PS2 SD look" about them. Hard to describe, but a bit washed out, slightly sepia and a bit smeared. This has resolved every bit of that. The colours jump out at you (cliche I know), the world is sharp and vivid, and I can vouch from a 55" screen there just aren't any faults at all.

Some characters - minor ones - have been hardly touched up, and their faces look like painted-on inflated paper bags with no depth or texture, but it's just the age of the game and doesn't "really" detract. Similarly movement is a tad basic, but hey.

5.0 out of 5 stars Classic FF titles looking beautiful 11 April 2014
Platform for Display:PlayStation 3| Edition:Standard Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Some of the best Final Fantasy games (PS2 era was the peak for me) beautifully remastered in HD. The addition of trophies has given another layer of gameplay focus, and the re-recorded music (not just remastered) has its own character whilst retaining the brilliance of the original compositions. Playing this all over again has shown how it hasn't aged and the experience is as invigorating and exciting as it ever was.

I eagerly await the HD remaster of FFXII, the best of the series.

FFX is, after FF7, my all time favorite vídeo game, so I was highly antecipating this title.

I am happy to say that my expectations were more than met. Visually this game ia stunning with a great rework of the old textures and the addition of several new details. The soundtrack remains amazing.

Its a pleasure reliving this incredible story.
