ABC (Letterland Picture Books)

The ABC letterland series is an excellent tool for introducing young children to the alphabet and the formation of their first words and sentences.
Each letter has it's own illustrated character which helps the reader to identify it. By putting these characters into a story it makes it fun for the reader and helps them to retain the information. After reading this book a couple of times with my 3 year old daughter, she went on to watched the video. Within 3 days she could recite the alphabet and recognise the shape of each letter. When asked if she could draw me an "Annie Apple" she drew a perfect "a". I would highly recommend this series to any parent hoping to teach their child how to read and write.

My 3 year old son will NOT sit and learn anything if I try to teach him directly....but this scored a direct hit! He remembers each character e.g. Annie Apple and has started to point them out to me in signs. There's a lovely story and illustrations about each character using lots of that letter e.g. Benjamin Bunny loves balloons.

Ideal for preschoolers!

A clearly ilustrated and brightly coloured book with plenty to grasp a toddler's attention and encourage letter recognition . Some of the letter characters have been changed, however, which means this book isn't 100% compatible with the earlier Letterland books and videos.

This book is simple yet extremely effective and uncomplicated. Children learn to read very easily using letterland and this book has the ideal format to keep a young child interested while learning - strongly recommended!

Both my sister and I learnt our alphabet with this book although a few of the character names have changed its still a good way to learn. Im hoping my child can enjoy this as much as we did.

We bought this book for our 2 1/2 year old who discovered the Letterlanders in a bedtime story book owned by his older cousin. He absolutely LOVES it and currently refuses to have his bedtime story read from any other book. Despite him being so young, he now recognises all the letters of the alphabet and has even started to point out letters he recognises on everyday household objects such as labels on tins etc. We are very impressed at how well this has worked at teaching him the alphabet in such a fun way. Definitely recommended.

My daughter loves this book as a bedtime book as it has stories about each of the letters in Letterland! It has made learning fun and as the letters are quite large on the picture she can easily trace the letter too as she's starting to write them, this has really helped. I'd highly recommend this book.

Had this when I was little and had to gfet it for my daughter loves reading and this helps with the alaphabet so a great learning tool

My son is learning to read at the moment andso I decided to try the Letterland books. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Packed with colourful pictures and lovely characters to illustrate each letter, he loves learning from them. We're now on Beyond ABC and he's loving it! The book has been around for decades and merits a century more!

My daughter (3yrs) loves this book and I bought the board book for her 18month old sister. They both love the books and recognise the letters although I originally bought it to help my 3yr olds speech. It hasnt helped her speech, but she does recognise the letters much better.
