Edexcel AS and A Level Modular Mathematics - Core Mathematics 2 (C2)

This book is intended to help the reader prepare for the core maths exam. It comes with a CD-ROM is case you get stuck on some of the questions - the CD-ROM sets out the solution/answer (in a "Solutionbank"). The book recognises that constant practice at answering questions embeds the relevant principles or formulae in the reader's (or doer's) mind and gets the reader to think in the right way, so to speak. Some of the questions require little more than a straightforward application of relevant formulae; but as you progress through the questions, they become harder - you have to think about the information you are given and adapt relevant data to an appropriate formula. The book is well-structured, concise and clear.

Great books but recieved with large sticky label on front of book advertising another website, was very annoying and took ages to take off. left lots of residue...

I took A-level maths fifteen years ago and have now repeated the course as a mature student. This series proved an excellent resource to self-teach, leaving me able to answer all past paper questions and tackle the actual exams with total confidence. The accompanying CD's, which have worked through answers to all the questions, are an invaluable addition. There are the very occasional wrong answers printed in the textbook although these can be easily identified through the workings.

Whilst I did use other books for some modules, I found that they offered very little, if anything, over this series in terms of the A-level course. What this series does not do is stray from the A-level syllabus, and consequently the context of questions could prove somewhat limited for those seeking a more comprehensive understanding of pre-university maths. However, the absolute focus on the syllabus is ideal for those seeking no more than to pass A-level exams.

I found the high standard of the material to be consistent throughout the books for C1 to C4 plus M1 and M2.

This is the worst condition book I have received via Amazon Marketplace. The seller's note indicated that the book "... is in excellent condition. Pages are intact and not marred by notes or highlighting. The spine remains undamaged. " However, there is a piece torn out of the front cover and there are scribbled notes on some of the pages. No way could this be described as 'excellent' condition.

Purchased for my son to use for A level revision. Good product at a good price he said it covered everything he needed.

It was in a good shape and contains the books page contents as expected. However one major disappointment was that there is no CD with the book. This is an important part of the book and if I had known it was not part of the purchase I would shopped for it elsewhere as I needed that CD.

Clear and easy to follow. Great book. Examples are good starting from easy and working up to harder questions. Summary sections are good also.

i would recommend this book to everybody who is studying a level maths as it has a lot of useful information

It doesn't matter what this books like, it's the only book available. Fortunately it is quite helpful, firstly providing clear step by step instructions for all of the complex maths problems that you will encounter in C2 maths. Secondly the enclosed CD-ROM provides further support with answers and explanations to all of the questions in the book, as well as exam tips/preparation and other useful information. Finally, buying it here on Amazon, I got the book cheaper (including delivery), than the college buying bulk.
