An unidentified womans body is found in a remote garden in Kent. With the owners not in residence, the only people with legitimate access are the caretaker, Johnny, and landscape gardeners Adam Sarjeant and his employer, Mog. 5.0 out of 5 stars Sad it's over 14 Aug 2013

I have been eagerly waiting for this next title in the Libby series, I was not disappointed in fact it more than met my expectations. Much deeper and more complex than the other Libby titles, we are treated to some real old Kentish history ranging from roundheads and cavaliers, through smuggling to the Napoleonic Wars. All the usual characters are there, although this time they seem to have become more comfortable with each other, Fran has seemed a little brittle in the past but Lesley has allowed her to mature into her role. I so wanted to make this book last but unfortunately for me I've finished it, guess I'll just have to read it again when no doubt I will find other things to enjoy now I know who dunnit. Thank you Lesley both for the return of Libby and her Loonies but also for a glimpse into the past.

An excellent addition to the series and a bonus to read the book on Kindle before it's 'really' published in October! I love Libby and want to join Libby's Loonies in the Pink Geranium.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fabulous! Best Libby Ever! 9 Nov 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I've read and loved every one of the Libby series but Murder in the Dark is now my new favourite. I loved meeting up again with the whole Pink Geranium gang who are now like real friends, and totally adore Libby. This book is a real unputdownable page-turner, managing to be slightly grisly and spine-chilling while still maintaining the cosy warmth and humour we Libby-lovers have come to expect. No mean feat! It's full of spookily atmospheric descriptions, fabulous historical details (I learned a lot!), many twists and turns, and some fabulous red-herrings! And again I didn't guess whodunnit!!! Perfect autumn/winter cosy fire-side reading - I can't recommend Murder in the Dark highly enough.

Here we go again! So say all the friends that Libby has in the book.I love her character and all her friends around her are people I feel we all meet in real life.Libby is nosey and you can understand why her friends get frustrated with her but the way she is works.Im glad she is an older person which I personally can relate to but she is young at heart.Im looking forward to the next book and will continue to follow this loveable character.

5.0 out of 5 stars Latest book 26 Sep 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I couldn't wait to read this latest book by Lesley Cookman, so was pleased it came out on Kindle when it did. Really enjoyed it, as I have enjoyed all the books by this author. Sometimes books about the same characters can get a bit boring, and you wonder why the author is carrying on in the same vein, but never here.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Ol Libby and Fran 7 Nov 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I love these nice, gentle books for a relaxing read and enough twists and turns to keep you interested. Lesley Cookman has written some greast characters and you feel an integral part of their lives as you happily turn the pages. I have read them all and look forward to the next one (hopefully). If you like well written, friendly detective novels you will love these - I know I do. And all without gratuitous bad language as wel - refreshing!!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as most of her others
" In the Dark" describes L.Cookman's book admirably, there is nothing much to 'get hold of', it is a pleasant book but somewhat colourless, not a bad read though.
