As the other reviewer stated... if you are looking for Bert the Farting Hippo then this is not him... but as a hippo toy it is cute enough!

I wasn't sure what to expect from this book, after all, with all the press coverage you would think that you knew pretty much everything that there was to know about "The Hamster" and his accident on the 20th September 2006. However I was surprised and incredibly moved. The brutal honesty with which both Richard and Mindy described what they went through during that difficult time was compulsive if sometimes a little uncomfortable reading, and once I started the book I couldn't put it down. I ended up reading it in one sitting and am not ashamed to say that at times it reduced me to tears.

I first saw this adaptation many years ago at school, and it had me hooked from the outset. I now own three versions of it and can quite happily watch it repeatedly.
Timothy Dalton and Zelah Clarke are Jane and Rochester as far as I am concerned. I have seen other adaptations and they just don't hold a candle to this one.
Amazing performances that never seem to date.
