The LUMIX TZ35--The Perfect Camera for any Situation
Wherever you are in the world, the LUMIX TZ35 – one of the world's slimmest 20x Optical Zoom digital compact cameras - is perfect for documenting any moment, no matter what your situation or surroundings. Packed into a simple, smart and sleek design, and available in a range of 4 different colours including black, white, silver and red, there's a LUMIX TZ35 to suit every preference.
16.1 Megapixel High Sensitivity MOS Sensor
Conventional Digital Cameras use image sensor technology built around a CCD (Charge Coupled Device). However the demand for faster readout and lower power consumption has led to the development of MOS (Metal Oxide Semiconductor) sensors as the preferred technology to deliver the advanced features of today's models. Panasonic's advanced 16 megapixel MOS sensor offers a digital readout from the sensor that supports Full HD video recording, high-speed burst shooting and a 3D mode. Also, due to a newly designed micro lens tube structure, light capture is maximised and picture noise greatly reduced.
High Resolution Leica Lens
Due to the strenuous image quality control checks that are enforced by Leica during Panasonic's lens manufacturing process, high quality and performance is assured in three main areas: Resolution - sharp and clear all the way to the edge and corners. Distortion - straight lines must appear straight, even at the wide angle. Ghost-free clarity - images should be largely free of ghosting or flare.
Enjoy a shooting range from 24 to 480mm.
Powerful 20x Optical Zoom Lens
One of the reasons the Lumix TZ series has proved so popular is the way in which Panasonic manage to cram an amazing high zoom lens in to a relatively small bodied camera. The 2013 TZ models include a powerful 20x optical zoom. That means that you could be shooting at a wide angle equivalent of 24mm one minute and then zooming in for a close up at 480mm the next.
40x Intelligent Zoom
The TZ models don't just offer a powerful optical zoom, they also includes a clever combination of optical and digital technology to get you even closer to your subject. The powerful image processing of the Venus engine means that a high quality image can be created from the telephoto lens that is equivalent to an incredible 40x magnification (twice the optical zoom limit).
24mm (Equivalent) Wide-angle Lens
The advantage of a wide angle lens, such as the 24mm equivalent included in this camera, is that you can get more subjects in the shot. That's great for indoor use where you may want to photograph a group of friends or for outdoor shots where you want to shoot an amazing landscape or sunset. Either way, you will find the wide angle option adds to your creativity.
Power O.I.S. with Active Mode for Video
Power O.I.S. is about twice as effective as our conventional system at reducing low-frequency vibration-caused blur. It is especially useful when using slow shutter effects or shooting night scenes. With the option of Active mode available during movie recording, videoing from a moving vehicle or while walking is also more precise.
Fastest Auto Focus - "Light-speed" AF
Fast focus is a must when you don't want to miss the moment of a lifetime. None come faster in a compact camera than the lightning fast 0.1 seconds of Lumix. Borrowed from the technology used in our Lumix G system camera, the incredibly fast focus speed is due to the double speed readout from the sensor when the shutter button is half pressed.
High Resolution 3.0 Inch (7.5cm) LCD with High Brightness Mode
A high resolution (460,000 pixels) Liquid Crystal Display is offered with a 3.0 inch viewing area that works well in bright light due to the Auto Brightness sensor that automatically increases brightness by up to 40% when in sunny conditions.
iA (Intelligent Auto) Shooting Mode
The art of taking interesting photographs is to have a camera that is ready to shoot when the moment arises. iA mode lets you take the picture without you having to worry about what settings to use. The camera intelligently works out the type of scene that you are trying to capture. Whether it is a picture of a person's face (using Auto Portrait mode), a dramatic landscape (using Auto Landscape mode), a close up of a beautiful flower (using Auto Macro mode) or a group of friends (using Auto Face Detection). All the most commonly used shooting scenarios are programmed in to the camera and the camera makes all the internal settings automatically, leaving you to just press the button.
Full Manual (PASM) Control Options
Manual setting of things like aperture or shutter speed are normally reserved for Digital SLR style cameras, so having such creative control on a compact camera is a real advantage and a valuable asset. Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority, Manual mode or Programme mode are all available so that you can test, and grow your creative skills without having to step up to a more professional model.
Capture high speed action with a rapid sequence of still pictures.
10 Frames per Second High Speed Burst Shooting
High-speed burst shooting, up to 10 frames per second at full resolution, is possible. This enables you to capture high speed action with a sequence of still pictures that are sharp and defined, even when it is difficult to keep the subject in the centre of the frame. You can review the images after you have captured the action and choose the best composed shot.
Add creative effects to your panorama shooting.
Creative Panorama Shooting Mode with Filter Effects
The Ultra-wide shooting panorama mode not only allows you to capture vast landscapes in one complete picture, but in a Panasonic first, this camera also offers "Creative Panorama" mode which allows you to choose from up to 12 filter effects** that can be applied to your shot.
Multiple Scene Setting Auto Shooting Modes
Up to 18 pre-programmed scene modes can be offered (number varies depending on model) giving you the choice of a wide range of shooting scenarios. Just select the one that best describes the scene you are taking, and the camera makes the best settings automatically.
3D Photo Shooting Mode
3D still pictures can look amazing when viewed on the latest 3D televisions. Normally two lenses or two cameras are required to create the left and right eye image that makes up a 3D picture. However, using the clever processing of the new Venus engine and the high-speed MOS sensor, a 3D stereoscopic image can be created with just one lens. Just select "3D Photo" mode and position yourself in front of your subject (the subject must not be moving for the 3D to be effective). Next press the shutter button whilst panning the camera about 10cm to the right. The camera will shoot about 20 shots and out of those shots it will choose two images that are the correct distance apart to create a 3D image when viewed on a 3D TV.
High quality video recording to suit the latest Full HD TVs.
FULL HD Video Mode with AVCHD Recording
When shooting video for playback on a Full HD TV, AVCHD offers amazing high quality recording. Video captured on your camera's SD card can be played back directly on a Panasonic Viera Full HD TV by putting the card in the SD slot on the TV and selecting play video.
MP4 Full HD Video Recording Mode for High Compatibility
Also offered in movie record mode is MP4 (H.264) format recording. High Definition video including 1920x1080 can be shot at 25 Progressive frames per second. MP4 format is compatible with many video editing software packages, but is also compatible with iTunes for playback on Smartphone or tablet devices.
Optical Zoom in Video Mode
Many Digital Still Cameras offer video mode these days, but most do not support zooming during video recording. Panasonic do include the zoom function on this Lumix model, so you can now shoot video just like you can with a camcorder.
* Requires "Panasonic Image App” for iOS / Android smartphones.
** Number of effects varies according to model.
