The Black & Decker Mouse sander has a detailed base which is designed to give better results when sanding intricate areas. With a tear drop shaped base this enables you to access tight corners and tight spaces. Complete with removable tips allowing other profile tips to be added for greater versatility and allowing small areas to be reached. The Mouse sander comes with quick fit sanding paper for faster sanding action and easier paper fitment. Quick fit sanding paper is a velcro system so no clips needed to secure the sheet.

    I love this little gizmo! It's great for fine work not calling for a lot of surface removal or when a belt, or orbital or random orbital sander can be too aggressive.

    A tip: the replacement pads available are somewhat limited in their grit range. I have found it useful to save old, worn out pads. Then I buy flat sheets of less common grit (like 400, 500 or even 1000), cut to the same shape as the old pad, use contact adhesive to stick it on the old pad and, presto - a new pad of a grit not normally available!

    Bought this for sanding down some teak garden furniture. Saved a lot of time, very easy to use and did the job really well and quickly. Easy to get into small areas yet coped with sanding larger areas well. Good price, cheaper and better quality than the local big chain DIY stores.

    Having purchased this mouse sander to do what I considered light DIY around the home, mainly cleaning up wood work and sanding down filler prior to painting, I was rather surprised to find that the sanding plate became partially detached from the rest of the sander after about 4 months rendering the product useless. On examination, the attachments holding the plate to the mouse were plastic and had worn through. I suppose we live in an increasingly disposable society with many products not designed to last. No doubt this is reflected in the increasingly lower prices we pay. In future I am going to pay extra for Bosch or other better quality brands.

    As usual Amazon's customer service was excellent and there was no quibble in supplying a replacement even before I had returned the original for examination! Many a high street chain could learn how to do things right when things go wrong.In future I will remember that you get what you pay for, though thanks to Amazon's excellent prices I will use the savings to buy better quality products.

    We had one of these for about three years but it blew the other day so we had to get another one.     I bought this with little expectation, just needed a handy sized sander to tackle those annoying and tedious sanding jobs. When I used it I was so please with its ease of use I tried a few bigger jobs and it coped really well without struggling. It is surprisingly powerful and copes well with larger jobs though would not put it to very big jobs-its just too small-gotta be sensible. I am so pleased that I would thoroughly recommend it. Easy to use pads too-love the velcro idea.
    I have had 2 sanders, rotary and belt for flooring, I think this is perfect!

    I purchased this sander to renovate some garden hardwood furniture.

    Firstly, the sander was easy to set up. The sandpaper sheets are simple to attach and take off, and stay on in use. It is surprisingly easy to use not too much noise or vibration and the shape does allow sanding of fairly intricate shapes. It gives a good finish and does not cut into the wood, unlike a previous sander that I had. The pointed end gets a lot of wear, but rather cleverly, you get two extra diamond shape ends with each sandpaper sheet.

    Depending what you are using it for, it does get through sandpaper sheets fairly quickly so you will need to purchase some spare sheets.

    Overall a good product for the cost.
