Advanced Exchange
SquareTrade will ship a replacement Kindle to you (same or newer model depending on availability). You will also receive a pre-paid shipping label to send back the damaged Kindle to the depot. A valid credit card is required on file to do an advanced exchange. If you don't return the damaged Kindle within 30 days, you will be charged the price of the replacement device.

Recently my kindle come lemming took a dive off my leg while I was reading and due to either ill luck or a natural calling it landed face down on a hard granite floor. Of course the kindle was dead on impact, thank fully I had the hindsight to pay for insurance as I expected some sort of accident down the line.
I rang the company up the following day and explained my situation, they were very polite and explained the entire returns procedure to me. I was shocked with the lack of fuss because I have dealt with insurance companies before and it hasn't been pleasant.
I was given an estimated arrival date of 3-4 days later for my replacement kindle but it arrived the very NEXT day.
I was incredbly happy with this result, needless to say I would recommend this insurance to any kindle owner.

So far I've not had to claim but did have questions regarding the terms and conditions of the policy. The call was free and the rep I spoke too was friendly and polite. Not being sure enough of the answer, he said he would consult someone who would have more information and call me back in an hour. 45 minutes later he called back with the answer. Having been promised call backs from other companies over the years, to actually recieve one came as something of a shock. I was also impressed that the CS rep cared enough about giving me a correct answer to spend time finding out. I will update further if/when I have to make a claim. Hopefully I wont be updating again.

Having only had my Kindle since Christmas and already had a replacement due to a bouncy 5 year old showing his skills as an acrobat come kindle breaker. I would recommend this to anyone as you can guarantee that you will either drop this in the bath or have children with the same idea of jumping on it. A WEEK LATER I DISCOVERED THAT MY FAMILY, WHO BOUGHT MY KINDLE AS A GIFT, HAD ALSO BOUGHT THE SAME INSURANCE. AFTER ONE SHORT PHONE CALL AN IMMEDIATE REFUND WAS GIVEN ON ONE OF THESE WARRANTIES. I think this is great value for money: you can have more than one claim and it costs much less than if I were to claim on my contents insurance where I have chosen to have a larger excess (since I've not made any claims in 40 years, I insure for the major catastrophe and not the minor ones with subsequent ever increasing premiums). I was also impressed that although they tell you that the start date is the day of purchase they give a five day deferral to allow for the Kindle delivery (reference emailed Certificate of Insurance). There seems to be no hidden catches and the paperwork/email documents are easy to understand and the Exclusions seem reasonable (unlike most other insurance small print which seems to try and exclude every eventuality). I was also further impressed that someone from the company replied to one of the Comments, I think a good sign that they are interested in what people think - even if they were misguided.

I hope that I will not have to make use of this service but I am very glad that it is there for my use should the need arise. I love my Kindle and would hate to be without it . With this warranty I know that should anything go wrong I am covered even I accidentally damage it. I think it is a small price to pay for such comprehensive cover.

My Kindle failed suddenly in its fourth month. At 2pm yesterday I phoned Squaretrade and had a friendly talk with a helpful advisor. Within three hours an e-mail came saying a replacement was on its way. It was delivered to my remote part of Cumbria first thing this morning, and appears to be perfect. I have labels for the return of the the first one, and instructions for arranging its free collection.
