To Honor You Call Us (Man of War, Book 1)

This was good read and an enjoyable one at that. The nod to the O'Brian novels is clear and maybe too similar at times. I am not wholly convinced if the future world technology and contexts created but I fully appreciate the soul and sentiment intended by the author. I look forward to reading and I'm enjoying most if the characters. Well done to the author .

This is good quality stuff. Yes, there is a lot of building up the back story and developing the ship a crew. But this gives the book depth. The characters are for more fleshed out than usual for this genre and there are multiple historical references, it makes for a satisfying read. I was astonished to note that it's the authors first book. I'm impressed and look forward to reading more, you're definitely following in the footsteps of your heroes and will get there. Looking forward to giving 5 stars next time.

Good story and main charactersLots of references to Aliens but no explation of how the main character knows so much about at least one species but overall I look forward very much to the next two books

I found it very easy to read. It was not over technical. It had a good story line that I think readers could relate to.

There was something nice and Star Trek about this book. It erred sometimes in giving too much detail, but was a good substantial military sci-fi book overall.

If you like military SF - Moon, Weber et al, you will love this. Typical of the genre it builds on historical naval traditions - but this is one of the best I have read - and I have read most. The characters are great, the plot and story are great and the writing is excellent. Can't wait for the final instalment. Why on earth don't Amazon allow you to flag particular authors so you are notified when anything new comes out - even Apple have caught on to that one! Try the sample if you aren't sure; you have nothing to lose and perhaps you will discover a new favourite.

Very god read as long as one excepts the space theme, w ell written , unable to put it down , read to 3am some days ,great.

Very good all action brave Earthmen saving us from the bad aliens. Gripping from the beginning, but you have to have patience with the technical explanations.

A good story but far too scientifically involved for my poor brain. Did the story really need those oh so detailed descriptions of equipment, weapons, and I thought there was a little repetition here and there.

It was nice to read a book didn't feel to far fetched, which made it more believable. Really enjoyed this book and would like to reada sequel
