5.0 out of 5 stars Great Xmas Present 16 Dec 2013

The perfect present for any Minecraft addict. Full of tips to help with the game.
Much more child friendly than many of the You tube clips that are not for the feint hearted or tender young impressionable ears!

3.0 out of 5 stars Not as informative as you'd think... 15 Dec 2013
Verified Purchase
Bought this for my daughter for Christmas. She's quite familiar with Minecraft, and thanks to my computer engineering background, so am I, having built servers for her and her friends to play on whilst having a little fun with it myself.

I expected this to be a guide showing progressively more complex redstone 'machines' in a logical sequence, but the machines for which there are instructions are perhaps a little too simplistic. Whilst they do increase in complexity, a lot of Minecraft players will already be quite familiar with the techniques depicted. A lot of the book is just showcasing complex redstone machines that have been built but without offering much by way of an explanation as to how it works, how it was built or the combinations of machines required to make it yourself.

I'm not a particularly knowledgeable Minecrafter, and even I found the guide a little less than informative.

If you're new to Minecraft and just want to understand how to use redstone and build simple machines, this book is for you. If you're looking to expand on your existing redstone knowledge and build more refined and sophisticated machines, I'm sorry - you're out of luck...

4.0 out of 5 stars Minecraft is cool
My boys 10 and 12 refer to this book all the time, it was defiantly worth it's money and with the hardback cover it should be tough enough to last the fad.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not Really THAT Cool.
Okay, so this Minecraft book wasn't really THAT cool. The other books were better. Wasn't bad thought. And it was short, too. I read it in 30 minutes.
