My interests are movies, music, reading, and sport but I also enjoy eating out and socialising with friends. My wife and I used to be frequent visitors to the movies (until our daughter was born), concerts etc. and we also have a very extensive collections of VHS, DVD, CD's and books.
I am a bit of a movie buff, although I would like to think that I don't take it to extremes. I enjoy the escapism and my reviews are just a bit of fun. I try not to give too much of the movie plots away, as to not spoil your viewing experience.
Favourite movies? In no particular order; The Godfather 1 and 2, Empire Strikes Back, Fight Club, LA Confidential, Moulin Rouge, The Spy Who Shagged Me, Fargo, Good Will Hunting, American History X, The Fellowship of The Ring and The Shawshank Redemption (amongst many others). In other words, eclectic! Generally speaking I like movies that are original and thought provoking but I also love feel good movies and escapist movies like The Empire Strikes Back or The Fellowship of The Ring, or good comedies such as Austin Powers II or Theres Something about Mary.
Anyway I hope my reviews are of some use, if not never mind, just please don't send me any offensive e mails (as two people previously have).

This is just an excellent thriller, wonderful acting, beautifully written and directed. It doesn't get much better than this...
The three lead actors Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin and Tommy Lee Jones are wonderful and in smaller roles Woody Harrelson and Kelly McDonald shine too. This is definitely one of the Coen Brothers best movies. More Blood Simple than Big Lebowski. It's simply a top notch thriller and fully deserves all the awards that it won.

The Girl Who Leapt Through Time is a story about 3 teenage friends: Makoto Konono, Chiaki Mamiya and Kousuke Tsuda. After school they regularly meet up at their local baseball court where they hang out and discuss their adolescent issues. However, everything changes when Makoto discovers she has the power to time travel and in normal teenage fashion decides to use these new powers for self gain. Of course, as any sci fi fanatic will tell you, things are not as straight forward as she hopes and Makoto soon begins to realise the consequences of altering the past and it's effect on the future. Rated as a PG, their is nothing to offend worried parents in this movie but the… Read more

I got this for my friends 3 year old and they have had great fun playing with this but it does require adult help and supervision. The best thing about it is that it can be built and re-built and so kids can get more than one use out of it and are less likely to get bored with it. It is a great tactile learning toy and stimulates creativity and it's messy, which kids love.
The only thing I would say is that because of the small parts, dust and paste etc it is not recommended for under 3s and so it is only really suitable for 3-5 year olds and even the older kids will need lots of assistance. Fun though.
