Father Christmas's story of himself is a mixture of memoir and miscellany, looking back on centuries of festive traditions, and key Christmas stories and poems: The Nativity, Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker, Clement Clarke Moore's poem The Night before Christmas, for example. This is a great book - it's brilliantly clear and brilliantly colourful,and it turns a traditionally dreary topic into FUN. And anything that stops the learning of punctuation feeling like hard work for an 8+ year old is a good thing in my book!
