Review

"...ought to elicit a chuckle of recognition or two." (Publishing News, 19th March 2004)

"Pains in the Office (Capstone 2004) contains pastiches of easily identifiable office types such as the Boozer, the Butt Licker and the Bully...this book offers genuinely useful tips on how to deal with such types. A volume no office lavatory should be without." (Daily Telegraph, 22nd February 2006)

5.0 out of 5 stars Accurate, funny and scary all at the same time!, 22 Oct 2004
This review is from: Pains in the Office: 50 People You Absolutely, Definitely Must Avoid at Work (Paperback)
This book is amazing. It has every conceivable pain in the backside work colleague you can ever hope to meet. I reckon if I worked in an office with all of them I would go insane. Mind, you I'm not far off now. I loved the Bowel Mover, so spot on. I don't think I will ever go to the toilet at work ever again. Our office is full of Competitors and Egotists which is a real drag. I am going to give the book to HR and get them off their fat butts to do something about this. I commend it to wage slaves everywhere as it gives you some amusement in an otherwise dull existence (at work of course!).

5.0 out of 5 stars I laughed so much that I coughed up some blood., 23 Sep 2004

This book is quite simply excellent. I picked up a copy yesterday and read it on the train going home (the previous book "Pains on Trains" inspired the purchase) - I managed to get into a laughing/coughing fit whilst reading the section on "The Company Bike" and got into such a state that I nearly soiled myself. I have brought it into the office today and am showing the relevant sections to some of the tossers that I work with in the vain hope that they might change their behaviours accordingly.

5.0 out of 5 stars At last someone who is willing to expose our work colleagues, 20 Dec 2004

I'm sick to death of work, so why aren't you. If you are tired of all the cretins you have to work with, then this is the book for you. Deeply satirical and so accurate, it may not make your working life any better, but at least it gives you the ability to vent your spleen. If you hate your workmates, then get this book now!
